We were approved for the Junior 4 with the enormous patio! We put down a deposit and hope to sign the lease next week. We will be moving the week of Thanksgiving.
We had applied for it sight-unseen, and didn't get to take a look inside until after we were approved. But as soon as we walked in the door, it felt like home.
The apartment is a sun-filled 800 square feet with lots of windows and, of course, killer outdoor space. I originally estimated the patio at around 400 square feet, but it's actually twice that! There's nothing but a concrete slab out there now, but the landlord will add trees and new flooring by springtime.
TH's room, once we put up a wall, will be only slightly smaller than the one I had as a girl. Totally doable.
All our stuff will fit, obviously. Still, I made a floorplan to be sure.
My broker says that our buyer wants to close by mid-December, so this should work out pretty well. The broker also added that our new rent is an unheard-of deal -- we think it's around $1,000 under-market. That said, this is Manhattan, so even $1,000 under-market is still a heck of a lot.
