On Friday I signed the contract on our co-op. We have officially sold our apartment, assuming all goes well with the board. We need to be out before January 1st.
But where will we go?
The winner is ...
... Sunnyside!
Well, probably.
Over the weekend we visited Sunnyside, Queens. Of all the neighborhoods we've seen so far, we like it the best. It's very close to my office, and is likewise a quick commute for PP. The locals are friendly, the streets are quiet and tree-shaded, and the cute downtown contains branches of all 3 of our favorite Queens takeout mini-chains (Pio Pio, Tangra Masala, and Mama's Empanadas).
But: The rental market in the Sunnyside Gardens section, where we want to live, is tight. And the brokers there are decidedly old-fashioned (few Internet listings, and no Craigslist postings). Still, we are hopeful that we will be able to find a place in the next few months.
Sunnyside happens to be the home of our friends PB and KB. As you know, KB is taking portraits of TH every month this year. There were dozens of great shots from her 3rd monthly visit last week, but shown in this post are some of our favorites.
