Happy 3-week birthday, TH!

Today marks TH's 3-week birthday.


We had a difficult start. TH fell asleep at around 11 last night, and Proud Papa stayed up, expecting TH to cry for his last bottle of the night at 2 a.m., as usual. But he didn't. He kept on sleeping. We finally gave up and went to bed around 4.


Of course, an hour later he woke up something fierce and wanted to play. The kid did not want to go to bed. Strange thing was, now that the clock had struck 12 and we had officially crossed over into 3-week-dom, he had been replaced with some sort of older, super-baby.


Those eyes! They are now wide open, like he can see clearly for the first time. He has also started to make cooing noises and other strange little baby sounds.

Those arms! He seems to have more control than usual over his motor skills, and has spent the day trying to turn over on his stomach and crawl away. (With very little help from us, he succeeds on both counts.)


That belly! He is up to 5 ounces of milk per feeding (last week he was at 3), which is putting quite the strain on his mama. He also seems taller and heavier than we remember -- he can stretch across the entire width of the bassinet. PP weighed TH by holding him on our bathroom scale, and it seems TH is roughly 10 pounds.
