We had a family birthday party yesterday. The guest list somehow grew to almost 30 people. We can't easily fit that many into our apartment, so we planned to host them outside.
The newly completed backyard was filled with balloons, streamers, and furniture.
Unfortunately, 30 minutes into the party, it started to pour.
Some of the guests were stuck underneath our tent (including PP and TH).
Eventually the rain stopped. Once back inside, TH was the life of the party.
The sky brightened, and we went back outside to eat.
For better or for worse, I opted to cook most of the meal in my tiny galley kitchen. We now have a week's worth of leftovers. Yum!
I did not make the cake, however; my mom picked it up at Costco. My kitchen does have its limits.
Clapping to the "Happy Birthday" song.
Cake!
It is rare that TH gets to eat something containing actual sugar ... or egg, for that matter (we did a trial run earlier in the week).
The cake passes TH's muster.
During present-opening, TH immediately grabbed for this Tonka truck from Cousin RS.
Shockingly he did not attack the wrapping paper, and nicely played while I opened his gifts.
This little party hat lasted all of 20 seconds before it met TH destruction. Good thing we bought an 8-pack.
Tiny cousin MG, with his mama LG. Only 7 weeks and cute as a button.
